Calling all Swarovski crystal collectors and Hello Kitty fans!! This is the moment you’ve all been waiting for – the first ever Swarovski x Sanrio Hello Kitty Collection. The collection, which includes jewellery pieces, figurines, accessories and leather goods, is available at Swarovski’s boutiques starting this month. I was invited to the launch party held at the Four Seasons Hong Kong on July 27 to get the first glimpse of the collection and the party was as fun-filled as I had expected. Not only was the food provided by the Four Seasons tasted absolutely delicious, my friends and I especially had fun with the Hello Kitty mirror and the interactive photo station where you get to take a photo and virtually try on the jewellery pieces on yourself or your friend. The highlight of the event was a fashion show featuring Jacqueline Chong and Alice B, and Jennifer Tse was the show’s finale where she presented one of the 88 limited edition Hello Kitty figurines, with the serial no. 8, that went up for a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Hong Kong charity foundation. These Hello Kitty figurines are each encrusted with over 20,000 sparkling Swarovski’s crystals, (pictured above), and only four are available in Hong Kong. See my gallery below for the evening’s highlights, and if you want one of those photos just like mine, the interactive photo service is available at the Fashion Walk Swarovski Boutique in Causeway Bay until 21st of August, 2011. Go and have fun!

The crystallier’s debut fragrance, in collaboration with Clarins Fragrance Group, Aura by Swarovski, was unveiled at a cocktail party hosted at Domani Ristorante at Pacific Place on March 24th. Amongst the speeches and model presentations, many guests and I were especially impressed when the ad campaign of the new fragrance was projected across Queensway on to the adjacent building with the city’s nightscape acting like a magnificent backdrop. “In this campaign, there’s an encounter between ancient symbolism and its contemporary manifestation, in body language and the way emotions is expressed,” said Olivier Van Doorne, International Artistic Director of the Select NY Agency behind the Aura by Swarovski campaign.

Sensuous and enchanting, the name ‘Aura’ was chosen to express the glow that the fragrance and the make-up jewels give off, as each product is infused with crystals that are cut and faceted with Swarovki’s exclusive know-how to capture light and reflect them like a luminous halo emanating from a person or their spirit. Three keynotes of lychee, white jasmine and rose are used to make the scent irresistibly fruity, flowery and feminine. The entire line is also refillable, with all packaging cases made from recycled or recyclable cardboard with no inserts, and the bottles may be broken down into their individual components. Hurry now, be the first to get them at selected perfumeries, department stores and Swarovski boutiques near you.
