It’s time to shop till you drop again! Don’t miss out this chance to own all these trendy designer goods at knock-off prices! Go get them!
A lot has happened back in October for my good friend, Gary Wong, who opened his fourth shop in Hong Kong at the newly renovated Leighton Centre in Causeway Bay and celebrated his company’s 10th anniversary with a party at The Peninsula Hong Kong’s glamorous lounge bar Salon de Ning. And such a bad friend I am to only post these news now. So sorry dude! I hope this feature will make up for it. You know I would love to help you whenever you ask me to… (but what’s with this shot of the shop front? Couldn’t you wait until that black car has passed?) Oh, readers, I hear there’s also a Shine Bazaar for all those off-seasons goodies at the top levels of the Winsor House in Causeway Bay at the moment. Just take a look at the gigantic poster posted on one side of the Winsor House’s carpark entrance. You can’t miss it, you shouldn’t miss it! Go have a browse now.

One of my favourite shopping places, rue Madame, is celebrating its first anniversary this year. Being the loyal customer that I am, I was invited to the in-store cocktail party on May 18, 2011, at its Lee Gardens’ branch. The perfect reason to make a swing by and make use of the VIP discount on offered I thought! But of course, I would want to support this company because it’s bringing in so many fantastic Parisienne fashion brands to Hong Kong that I love, and putting them right where I need them with one shop at the ifc Mall and one shop at Lee Gardens Two. Thank you so much! And I just love to shop in the intimacy of shops like these, not only can you go through all the nice things in a flash and hit the changing room, but the fresh flowers, warm decor and friendly staffs, who are never far from a call away when you’re stuck in the changing room (that’s especially important for a friend I know), just makes everything a breeze and puts you in a good mood. The Parisienne fashion concept boutique carries a lot of the same brands as with ah-hemm… my favourite online store… such as the ones I like: Maje, Sandro, Gat Rimon and Majestic. So as a true shopaholic, I do shop around for better prices or compare the deals on offer and sometimes I just can’t wait to have a try on, you know?
But when it comes to shopping, you all girls know timing is the key, or should I say it’s usually a matter of convenience or by chance. Such as this Maje Enquete two-tone denim shirt dress, pictured below, that I had my eyes on it for ages since I saw it online. I had actually saved the picture on my desktop and was so happy looking at the thumbnail everyday. I was waiting to see if I can find some other things I like to make my purchase before I saw that I had missed the free worldwide shipping offer by a day. Well, it’s one of those things. Once I know I could have got it cheaper, I don’t want to pay more, especially just so happened, I couldn’t find anything else that I wanted to buy. I thought I’ll just wait for it to be on sale, and there it was, right there at the event, first thing I saw when I walked in the shop by the glass windows. Oh, hello!… With the discount, it worked out cheaper for me to buy it right there that day. I had to take it home, but that’s not without trying out a bunch of other stuffs too. See pictures below. I love the Maje denim dress. For those of you who know me knows that I like the conveniences of one-piece dresses and anything that’s versatile or reversible. I’m thinking that I can dress this dress up with a pair of heels and a clutch for a party or dress it down with a pair of flats for a barbeque, I can throw on a jacket on top or wear it buttoned down with a tank top inside, but so far, I’ve just been wearing it around the house or when I need to make a quick run to the store. I can guarantee this is a good investment, I feel like wearing it everyday and I’m sure it will lasts a long time. If you still haven’t check out rue Madame, make a trip to it now. I’m sure you’ll find something, or maybe more. Prices are around HK$1,000 and up for apparels.

I know this post is a tad late for an event held on April 26th, but like the saying goes, better late than never. And the beauty of being my own boss means that I can do whatever I want. God, it feels good just saying that. So here are the photos for the quite awesome I.T flagship store opening party I attended few weeks ago. As you can imagine, the queue outside the shop was already a mile long on Hysan Avenue by the time I arrived (although I was on the dot) but we were only all held up outside the door for the dragon dance opening ceremony. It was the first time I saw a black and white combination for the dragon dance – must be some feng shui thingy or they’re trying to make the dragons look fashionable? The four-storey mega store was jam-packed in no time once the velvet robes were unleashed, so my friends and I stayed in the roomier VIP area in the basement. Little did we know, a boxing match was going to take place and we’ve got the best seats in the house. It was the first time I’ve seen boxing at an event, the first time I’ve seen boxing inside a store. The first time I’ve seen live boxing – period! How awesome! A big round of applause to the PR who came up with this setup. Other than the boxing, there were plenty of other stuff that kept guests entertained, such as the free badge making service on the second floor where you can have your initials stitched on a badge for keepsake, or a light painting photo station where you can add a doodle on your photo with a flash light. And of course, there were ample of free-flowing champagne, mini-burgers, ice-cream, and so on, to go around.

If you still haven’t been to this shop yet – girl, you are missing out! Okay, I confess. This is one of my recent discoveries too. If you like Laura Ashley Homes or White Contemporary Homes in Hong Kong, you’ll certainly like this. Think Franc Franc with the best girly twist, all the too girly, too antique-looking pretty things that they couldn’t fit in their store. That’s right, meet Franc Franc sister’s shop – About a Girl. The perfect place to shop for gifts, bachelorette parties, or perhaps something for yourself or your home, and the price tags will not ruin your smile. Go have a look soon. The store has plenty of fluffy, furry, glittery things that will surely bring out the girly side in you – no matter what kind of girl you are.
