Tangerine Dream

The Tory Burch Fall/Winter 2011 fashion presentation and party was hosted on May 13, 2011, at the grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Hong Kong to celebrate the launch of the US label in greater China. My girlfriends and I were already thrilled about a party at the Four Seasons, but better yet, the invitation says Tory Burch will actually be there in person to host the party. Making an extra effort was my friend Rosa who had called me up that afternoon to tell me about the outfit she had put together after researching on Tory’s blog (which is extremely good by the way, do check it out). After I heard that she’ll be wearing a pair of green maxi trousers, I dropped the idea of wearing my red lace babydoll dress, thinking we’d look too christmassy next to each other, and opted for a blue and orange colour blocking option. My friends and I don’t often make an effort to match our outfits, but when we do, it’s super fun to see in the photos, so that’s why I’m sharing it with you all. (Hopefully Rosa wouldn’t mind, I forgot to ask for her permission!) We got even more excited once we arrived and saw that the venue was completely decked out in the brand’s signature orange colour too, from the lounge sofas to the lacquered coffee tables and bars. What great backdrop they make for our outfits we thought! Everything felt so upscale and the music spun by DJ Cassidy got us into the mood. We were all expecting to see Tory walk down the runway after the show had finished, but she was nowhere in sight. Luckily, we saw her by the entrance just before we left. When we asked for a photo, she did not hesitate for a second and welcomed us with opened arms. The three of us exchanged a causal conversation and Tory was absolutely charming, friendly and warm in person, so I thought – if her shoes and handbags did not win my heart before, her charisma certainly did.
