It’s been a while since I did a blog post on home and living, so here’s one for you. I was going through my inbox and remember this email from my stylist friend, subjected ‘Thought of You’, that she has sent to me following an incident where she came to my home and tried to borrow some shopping bags from me for a fashion shoot. Being known as the shopaholic, it’s unavoidable that I’m the best person to ask for used shopping bags. So as she was going through my pile of collectibles, she pulled this blue one up and asked me if it’s okay to take it. She was looking for shopping bags in blue, and funny enough, the only blue one I have is this Vivienne Westwood one, pictured below, that I got from the designer’s world tour exhibition in 2008. I hesitated in replying my friend so she asked me again, ‘I didn’t know you collect shopping bags too?’. ‘Well, I guess I do?!’ I told her. Going through my pile of shopping bags, there are ones that I really would rather not share – sorry to say. I guess that’s why they managed to stay there all these time. I think some of the shopping bags, such as the ones from a memorable event or ones that will not be reproduced again, are worth keeping although I didn’t know what to do with them again. Just like my YSL manifesto tote bag and lookbook that’s still sitting under my desk. Am I a little odd? Now, my friend’s idea is great, not only can I make use of them to decorate my home and get to look at them all the time, it’ll keep them from getting wrinkly too. Another DIY project up the pipeline for me! Check out the Bromeliadliving.com for more delightful DIY ideas for your home or for your fashion.
